Dave Friston: Creative Director

I first set foot in a creative agency in the spring of 1979 as a 16 year junior. I was paid £20 a week for my efforts!

In 1982 I moved to Streets Advertising in Fleet Street and worked as a graphic artist until 1986 when I left to become a freelance illustrator. I worked on many accounts such as Disney, Shell Oil and Bacardi. In 1998 I took the opportunity to work as a web designer for a Brighton agency, I learned my craft for 10 years on e-commerce websites, content managed sites and internet marketing.

In the summer of 2008 I left to start Zone 1 Creative with Pinakin Patel which we have successfully formed into a web agency that punches well above it's weight.

Pinakin Patel: Technical Director

I started work in the IT industry in 1998 as a Mainframe Applications Programmer at Lloyds TSB. In 2005 I was employed as lead web developer for EROL e-commerce software.

Starting Zone 1 Creative has created the opportunities to master Drupal Open Source and many other powerful softwares.

Bob Friston

For the last 2 years I have been focusing my attentions upon the emerging mobile device technology being developed and have added the Apple IOS platform development to my existing software skill set. My speciality being both iPad and iPhone Application Development.

Barry Pyatt

“I can beat Dave inasmuch as my first “salary” at the Ministry of Aviation was £3 10s 5d per week during the 60s … Somehow, it went a longer way, back then !!” Barry brings over 45 years of broadcast and independent, audio, film, video and TV experience to the team. Nine years at the BBC in London, two years freelancing in Europe, three years with Rediffusion, followed by 25 years as owner of Studio 21 in Yorkshire.He then, in semi-retirement, became a “Profesor de Tecnología” in Alicante, Spain, but returned to the UK in 2005 for family reasons.

Barry is now an independent media consultant/producer for several companies, some of whom are already clients of Zone 1 Creative.

Relevant services to Zone 1 & clients are the production of bespoke web-media clips.
