Easy Event Booking for Clubs and Organisations

We recently put an event booking system live for a charity organisation at no cost. The Gujarati Cultural Society of Brighton run a number of events for its members and the wider public. They wanted an online booking system which allowed their members to purchase tickets for events like charity evening dinners, musical events and trips and excursions.

I sourced an number of potential scripts that could be used for this including the number wordpress modules. In the end I went for the Event Booking PHP script from phpjabbers. The developer license is opensource and costs $120. The support from phpjabbers has been exceptional especially as they are based outside the UK.

The application allows you to upload a visual map of the venue and place seat positions on the map. Visitors can then book multiple types of tickets, ie, adult, child, discounted in one booking and then pay by PayPal, Card or Bank Transfer. There is also a no payment option or pay a deposit and cash at the venue.
